Popular playback singer Shreya Ghoshal has announced that her X (formerly Twitter) account has been hacked since February 13, rendering her unable to delete or access it.

Sharing the news on Instagram through her official handle @shreyaghoshal, the award-winning singer warned her fans. She asked fans to exercise caution and not click on any dubious links or believe messages from her hacked account.

After several attempts at contacting the X support team, Ghoshal complained of only automated replies with no actual help in restoring her account. She noted that any message, posting, or activity coming from her hacked account is a scam and could be part of a phishing scam.

A number of fans have noticed strange behavior on her X account, including quickly emerging and vanishing posts and individuals getting blocked upon interacting with the profile. The fans have swarmed the singer’s Instagram post with words of comfort, anticipating an immediate fix.

Ghoshal promised fans that when she has her account back, she would post an official statement in video form. Meanwhile, she appeals to everyone not to fall victim to any posts associated with her hacked account.

This event is an indication of the increasing cybersecurity issues for celebrities, as hackers resort more and more to hacking social media accounts for ill intentions. As fans look forward to further announcements, they remain supportive of the popular singer.
