The Met Police are reported to have been asked to look into whether Hamas fighters are benefiting from the activities of Save One Life UK, a charity which says it delivers "critical aid work in Gaza".

is alleged to have been reported to counter-terrorism police over the cash it donates to children amid concern it could be filtered off to Hamas fighters.

According to , the charity has raised around £2 million in four years, with the majority of funding heading to Gaza since Israel responded to the Hamas terror attack on October 7, 2023.

The newspaper reports a complaint has been raised citing what is alleged to be a lack of control over how any money raised is spent in the Palestinian territory.

The Express has contacted Save One Life UK for comment.

It is reported a complaint about Save One Life UK was submitted to the Metropolitan Police on Thursday via the Government's online portal for alerting authorities to potential terrorism or extremism.

The complainant told police: "Save One Life UK is a registered charity that is sending money to Gaza via an unknown broker in Turkey. This looks suspicious.

"A charity can be investigated if it is suspected of transferring money for non-charitable purposes including political activity and support of terrorism."

Publicity images handed over to police with the complaint appeared to show charity workers handing envelopes thought to contain cash over to children.

The complainant added: "This could provide material support for a proscribed terrorist group like Hamas."

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We treat all reports made into the Anti-Terrorist Hotline and online portal as confidential.

"Because of this, and for operational security reasons, we therefore do not comment on or confirm specific details or matters that may get reported to us through this route.

"However, all reports get reviewed by officers and if it is assessed that further police action is required, then it will get passed to the relevant police force, or counter-terrorism unit to carry this out."
