Method of making onion sauce
Material:
2 medium sized onions (finely chopped)
2-3 green chillies (finely chopped)
1/2 cup coriander leaf (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Taste salt
1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
1/4 teaspoon black salt (optional)
1 teaspoon oil (optional)
Method of preparation:
First peel the onion and cut it finely. If you want to reduce onion pungency, soak the chopped onion in cold water for 10 minutes. This will reduce onion pungency.
Add chopped onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, salt, roasted cumin powder and black salt in a bowl.
Now add lemon juice to it. If you want, you can also add 1 teaspoon oil, it makes the sauce shiny.
Mix all the ingredients well. Keep in mind that salt and spices in the chutney are as per your taste.
Serve the chutney immediately or keep it in the fridge and eat it after cooling. The taste of cold chutney is even better.
You can serve onion sauce with parathas, pakoras, samosas or any snacks.
