New Delhi, 3 March (IANS). On Monday, Ranveer Allahabad was a relief for Ranveer Allahabadia using abusive language in Raina's show 'India's Got Latant'. The Supreme Court allowed YouTuber Ranveer to resume his podcast on the condition that he would maintain “standards of decency and morality”.
Many other YouTubers, including Ranveer Allahabadia, Ashish Chanchalani and Apoorva Makhija, got caught in controversy over porn and vulgar comments during an episode of Raina's show 'India's Got Latant'.
Justice Suryakant and N. The bench of Kotishwar Singh relaxed an earlier condition, under which Allahabadia or his colleagues were barred from broadcasting any shows on YouTube or any other audio/video visual mode of communication until further orders.
During the hearing, a bench headed by Justice Kant asked the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, the second largest law officer of the Center to consider re -introducing the content in the online media.
He said, “We do not want any system that increases the censorship, but it cannot be free for everyone.”
The court clarified that Allahabadia's show should not comment on the actions that are under consideration in the court. Earlier on February 18, the court had stayed the arrest of Allahabadia with the condition that he would join the investigation if he was called by the investigating officers.
The court had ordered, “Interim protection against the arrest is given with the condition that the petitioner will fully cooperate in the ongoing investigation.”
The Supreme Court had said that no other FIR would be lodged against Allahabadia on the basis of an episode aired on the show 'India's Got Latant', for which two-three FIRs have already been registered.
In the midst of the controversy, Raina removed all the videos of the show from YouTube and said that his intention was only to entertain and make people laugh.
Several complaints have been filed in the comedy show demanding legal action against Raina, Ranveer Allahabadia, Ashish Chanchalani and Apoorva Mukhija, popular in the case of vulgar and objectionable comments on parents.
