Anindita Sinha on her journey in Ram Bhavan; says 'I started as a lead, took a ten-year break and now I've been acting for over a decade'

Actress Anindita Sinha , who plays the role of Sumitra in Ram Bhavan , has captivated audiences with her heartfelt portrayal of a devoted mother. Sumitra’s journey is one of resilience and transformation, making her a standout character in the show.
Sumitra’s life takes a drastic turn when she loses her husband, forcing her to step up and take control of her family’s future. As her daughter ventures into the workforce, Sumitra and her family move in with unwelcoming relatives, pushing her to grow from a traditional homemaker into a strong, independent woman who fights for her family’s dignity.
For Anindita, playing Sumitra has been an enriching experience. Reflecting on her acting career, she shared, “I started as a lead in projects with directors like Anand Mahendru. After a ten-year break, I returned to the industry, and since then, I have played various motherly roles—strong, educated, homemakers, and working women. Each character has taught me something valuable.”
One of the biggest challenges for Anindita while portraying Sumitra was adapting to the traditional attire. “Wearing a saree with the pallu over my head was really difficult! I had never done it before. But now, I have a newfound respect for women who manage household chores while keeping their pallu intact,” she admitted.
Anindita expressed her admiration for the team behind Ram Bhavan. “The makers have a clear vision, but they also encourage fresh ideas. From the production team to the spot boys and camera crew, everyone is fantastic. I would love to work with them again in the future,” she concluded.
With her powerful performance in Ram Bhavan, Anindita continues to prove her versatility and dedication to her craft.
