Marc Márquez fought for victory at the MotoGP Thai GP against his brother Álex, ultimately coming out on top and maintaining control even when running in second place.

The Ducati rider stated in a press conference that his approach to the battle was not influenced by their family relationship: 'In the end it’s competition: it’s not with your brother, it’s not with your teammate - every time you overtake someone, you try to overtake in a good way, you try not to make any mistakes. But sometimes we are on the limit and you cannot avoid'.

Throughout the race, Marc Márquez had stronger pace and only needed to manage his position while spending laps in second place. He acknowledged that he had that advantage:

- In this race I was lucky, because I was controlling and I had a better pace. And then I had two clear points to overtake, that were the last turn, turn 3 and the first one. And then, I gave that push with 1m31s low just to open the gap. Then, I said, «He will defend from Pecco [Bagnaia], but I don’t want to be in the middle».
