Tamil star Karthi recently met with an unfortunate accident on the sets of his much-awaited film Sardar 2. The incident took place in Mysuru while he was filming an intense sequence. Following the injury, he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors assessed his condition. While fans are concerned about his well-being, reports suggest that he is receiving the necessary care.

As per media reports, doctors have advised Karthi to take a week off to ensure a full recovery from his injury. Taking his health into consideration, the makers of Sardar 2 have decided to put the shoot on hold and return to Chennai. Filming will resume once Karthi is back on his feet and ready to get back in action.

Karthi has yet to share an update on his health, and details about his hospitalisation remain unclear, suggests reports.

The Sardar 2 team recently completed filming the movie’s climax on an elaborate set at a Chennai film studio. The current schedule included Karthi and SJ Suryah, who were part of an intense action sequence designed by stunt coordinator Chethan Ramshi D’Souza, known for his work in Aavesham.

Helmed by PS Mithran, Sardar 2 will see Karthi taking on dual roles, with the narrative unfolding across two different periods. The film began production in mid-2024 and was on track for completion within a few weeks. However, a recent setback has temporarily delayed the schedule. The much-awaited sequel will have Karthi and Rajisha Vijayan returning to their roles from the original, while SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, and Ashika Ranganath join the cast in key roles. With nearly 80% of the film already shot, the team is eager to resume work once Karthi recovers and the producers give the green light.

In July 2024, tragedy struck the sets of Sardar 2 when stuntman Ezhumalai lost his life following a fatal fall during the filming of an action sequence. Reports suggested that he suffered an internal hemorrhage and succumbed to his injuries.

The film, which began shooting on July 15, had to be temporarily halted after the unfortunate incident.
