A tough fight was expected in the semi-final match of Champions Trophy 2025 between India and Australia and something similar was seen from the beginning of the match. But during this, something happened which shocked everyone, which is rarely seen. Ravindra Jadeja, bowling for Team India, stopped Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne, who was trying to take a run on one of his own balls, and did not let him take any run by completely holding him.
In the first semi-final of the tournament at Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday 4 March, the Australian team came out to bat first. They lost their first wicket early but then Travis Head hit some amazing shots. This time Travis Head could not play a big innings and was out on the ball of Varun Chakraborty. From here Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith took over the innings. There was a half-century partnership between the two and the team also crossed 100 runs.
Then in the 21st over of the innings, Australia got a chance to take a run on Ravindra Jadeja's ball. On the second ball of the over, Smith played an on drive on Jadeja's ball but Jadeja tried to stop the ball by moving to his right. The ball hit his foot and went towards short midwicket. Then Smith and Labuschagne started trying to run. Now Smith even stepped out of his crease a step or two but Jadeja and Labuschagne collided with each other and this is where the Indian bowler stopped Labuschagne from running by holding him with both his hands.
In the meantime, the fielder came and caught the ball and Australia lost the chance to take 1 run. Jadeja started laughing at this but Steve Smith got angry at this and he started objecting to the umpire. However, the umpire did not take any action on this but Australia suffered a loss. In fact, after this, no runs were scored on the next 4 balls and this over turned out to be maiden. This distracted Smith and in the next over also he played 4 dot balls, due to which he did not get any run on 10 balls. Then in his very next over, Jadeja also took the wicket of Labuschagne.
