Uttarakhand CM inaugurates 'Developed India-Developed Uttarakhand' exhibition in Roorkee

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], March 4 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the "Developed India-Developed Uttarakhand" mega exhibition at the Nehru Stadium in Haridwar's Roorkee on Tuesday. He said that this exhibition presents a wonderful and vibrant image of developing India and Uttarakhand and that the exhibition presented an environment that provides a glimpse of a new India.The Chief Minister, while highlighting the significance of the mega exhibition organised through the efforts of Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, emphasised that the event showcased the achievements of a developed and self-reliant India.The exhibition featured stalls from Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited (THDC), the Bureau of Indian Standards, and several central agencies, along with state government departments displayed their public welfare initiatives, schemes, and innovations.Additionally, self-help groups from the state presented local products, offering a glimpse into the strengthening rural economy of Uttarakhand, a release said. The Chief Minister remarked that the exhibition not only highlighted India's progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi but also reinforced the commitment to transform India into a developed nation by 2047.He noted that India, historically a leader in knowledge, science, art, and culture, is now moving towards reclaiming its past glory under Prime Minister Modi's visionary leadership. He emphasized that the ongoing efforts to establish India as a self-reliant and developed nation have already led to significant achievements.The Chief Minister further stated that India, leaving behind many major global powers, is excelling in fields like education, medicine, agriculture, science, research, production, and technology, making it the world's fifth-largest economy.He said that India is also re-establishing its cultural prominence, with global acceptance of yoga, the construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, and the recent success of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj."Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India is preserving its ancient cultural heritage while advancing in modern fields such as military modernization and strategic strengthening, enhancing the nation's global stature," said CM Yogi.The Chief Minister lauded Prime Minister Modi's historic initiatives, such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which have helped lift 25 crore people out of multidimensional poverty. He emphasized that Uttarakhand is playing a crucial role in achieving the Prime Minister's vision of a developed India.He also highlighted the progress made in Uttarakhand, under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, with the state's "double-engine government" building roads from cities to villages and nearing completion of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line. He said Uttarakhand became the first state in India to introduce heli-ambulance services, along with launching heli services for various cities and that the state is also working towards establishing 20 model degree colleges and successfully hosted the 38th National Games, cementing its reputation as a sports hub.The Chief Minister reaffirmed the state's commitment to addressing the issue of migration by developing policies focused on investment and job creation. Uttarakhand's new Industrial, Logistics, Startup, Export, and MSME policies are aimed at promoting self-employment and fostering growth.CM Dhami also noted that women's self-help group products are being exported under the "House of Himalayas" brand, with a Rs 200 crore venture fund being created to support start-ups.The Chief Minister shared that Uttarakhand has surpassed the national average in reducing its unemployment rate by 4.4 percent within a year. He also revealed that in the last three and a half years, the state government has successfully provided over 20,000 government jobs to the youth. (ANI)
