Attendees enthusiastically participated in the event and had conversations with the Chief Minister. The event also included a number of dignitaries and party workers.

Rekha Gupta, the chief minister of Delhi, visited the GTB hospital on Tuesday and bemoaned the ‘poor status’ of the nation’s health facilities and the purported waste of medical equipment by the previous Aam Aadmi Party administration.

The Chief Minister said that medical equipment valued at hundreds of billions, which was listed in the CAG report, has not been utilized since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak a few days after the report was presented to the Delhi Assembly.

CM Gupta further claimed that the previous AAP administration had simply built temporary structures and that there were no actual medical facilities there.

The Chief Minister informed reporters, “The inspection is ongoing, and I can see that the entire godown in this hospital is filled with equipment.”

According to the hospital’s roster, there are 36,000 PPE kits, 146 ventilators, and 458 oxygen concentrators. Since the coronavirus epidemic, a lot of items have been left out here, including masks and bedding. This is not unique to one hospital; godowns are stocked in this manner at almost all hospitals. Yesterday, I also brought up in the house that hospitals have equipment worth crores of rupees that is lying around unused. The equipment is not in a condition to be utilized, even if an expert examines it,” CM Gupta said.

“A structure has been constructed here in the sports field when no facility like a hospital is present, and the building has been constructed in an unforeseen manner,” she said. “Temporary buildings were constructed, such as the Sanjay Gandhi hospital, which was constructed in the parking lot during the COVID. Semi-permanent buildings have cost thousands of crores, but they are still unfinished, and even if we invest more money in them, they won’t be used today.”

The Delhi Chief Minister questioned the AAP further, demanding an explanation from previous Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal about who would foot the bill for the hundreds of billions being squandered here.
