Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap confirmed that he is leaving toxic Bollywood. According to the filmmaker Bollywood has shifted its focus only on box office numbers and rather than focusing on the creativity of the film. Anurag Kashyap while talking to The Hindu said I want to stay away from people associated with the film. The industry has become very toxic. Everyone is chasing unrealistic goals and trying to make the next 500 and 800 crore film. The creative environment here is now over.
According to a news report by The Hindu stated that Anurag Kashyap has shifted to Bangalore and is eager to work in the South film industry to enhance his creative experience. In December last year Anurag Kashyap had said in an interview that he was planning to go to South India.
Earlier during a conversation with Hollywood Reporter India Anurag revealed that he feels jealous of South cinema. He said I am jealous of them (South filmmakers). Because now it has become very difficult for me to experiment. Because now a price has to be paid for it so my producers now have to think about profit. They say Where is my margin? I am losing money. I say if you dont want to make this film dont make it but I cannot do that.
Anurag further said “Because now from the very beginning even before the film starts the question arises that how will we sell it? So the fun of filmmaking is over now. That is why I want to leave from here. I am leaving Mumbai next year itself.”
Anurag Kashyap has worked in multiple South films in the past films like Maharaja and Rifle Club. These days Anurag is waiting for the release of his next South Indian film Dacoit. In this he has played the role of a policeman. This film will be released in Telugu and Hindi. Apart from him Adivi Sesh and Mrinal Thakur play pivotal role.
