AI-powered content creation platform Phot.AI has raised $2.7 Mn in its seed round led by Info Edge Ventures.

The round also saw participation from Together Fund, AC Ventures, and over 50 angel investors, including Shiprocket’s Saahil Goel and Akshay Ghulati, Aakash Anand of Bella Vita, Arjun Vaidya of V3 Ventures, Bewakoof’s Prabhkiran Singh, Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain of Astrotalk, Droom’s Sandeep Aggarwal, Vishesh Khurana and Raj Snehil Juneja of Tribe Capital, and Pawan Gupta of Fashinza.

The startup plans to utilise the capital to expand its team, strengthen research and development (R&D) capabilities, and launch an AI-powered creative copilot.

Founded in 2023 by Venus Dhuria, Aneesh Rayancha, and Akshit Raja, Phot.AI helps ecommerce brands automate the creation of product images, ad designs, and marketplace listings.

Instead of manual design or rigid templates, brands can use the startup’s AI agents to generate visuals and creatives for platforms like Amazon, Shopify, and Meta Ads. Phot.AI, which claims to have 3 Mn signups globally, offers 25+ AI-powered photo editing tools and an integrated design studio.

“Our AI-powered platform automates everything—from cataloguing and product photography to ad design—making content creation as seamless as ChatGPT but for ecommerce… If you’re running a campaign, you often need the same creative in multiple sizes and languages. A single design might have to be adapted into 15 to 20 different sizes and translated into five to seven languages, leading to hundreds of variations, which is time-consuming and costly,” cofounder Dhuria told Inc42.

The AI-powered startup claims that over 25 businesses are currently using its APIs to automate workflows and improve conversions. While the platform currently charges $10 per month to its users, Phot.AI plans to increase the price of its offerings to $49 per month post the copilot launch.

The fundraise comes at a time when the homegrown AI ecosystem is growing by leaps and bounds. Buoyed by more and more companies embracing the technology, local startups are coming up with a number of use cases to cater to their demand across sectors.

As a result, investors are lining up to invest in local AI ventures. Just a day ago, AI-driven SaaS startup led by Sorin Investments.

Earlier this week, from the venture arm of Switzerland-based ABB Motion. Prior to this, led by IAN Alpha Fund to scale up its AI and IoT-powered water management solutions.
