Lau has a habit of holding on to items connected to significant moments in her life, such as clothing, jewelry, shoes, and handbags. In addition to the banknote, she also kept a Dior dress, which she first wore in 1994 when attending an event with her then-boyfriend, Hong Kong actor Tony Leung, whom she married in 2008.
Lau, aged 60, began her acting career in 1984 and rose to fame in the 1980s with several successful drama series. Her film roles, including her performances in the “Infernal Affairs” sequels and Wong Kar-wai’s “2046,” have further elevated her international profile.
