Activision seems to have given fans exactly what they were waiting for by reviving a legendary franchise. The beloved Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series has received a much-needed remaster under the development of Iron Galaxy and publisher Activision. Reportedly, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 remaster delivers 4K visuals, cross-platform multiplayer, and an upgraded soundtrack. Launching July 11, 2025.
The trip down memory lane seems to be a full 4k joyride with the upgraded visuals. The remastered masterpiece has renovated the classic maps with jaw-dropping textures, stunning lighting effects, and a level of detail. Places like the Warehouse and Airport have received a facelift, bringing them up to level with the current generation. The game has been upgraded, however, the vibe seems to be still the same.
Although embracing new innovations, the Pro Skater 3 + 4 remaster remains adamantly devoted to its classic roots. The reveal trailer gave us an interesting side-by-side comparison with the visuals and gameplay of both the new and original games. The combo-oriented arcade mechanics that the series is loved for still exist but seem to be finely tuned for this generation of players.
Iconic characters to the Pro Skater series like Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen also make a comeback for this Pro Skater 3 + 4 remasters. Add to that the modern stars like Yuto Horigome and Rayssa Leal, and it really feels like an ultimate roster. The game also features some unexpected characters like the Doom Guy and the Revenant if players pre-order the game.
Let’s go ahead and talk about the soundtrack. They pound from the old to the new, with heavy songs like Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades” sharing equal footing with new tracks. It fits just right as the million-point combo gets hit or as another secret objective gets smashed. Combine this with old objectives from the previous games and some new ones, there is something for everyone, from newbies to pros.
The improved Create-A-Park mode is basically a creator’s paradise. With more tools and options than ever before, build your dream worst nightmare of a skatepark and share it with the world. Create-A-Skater mode makes a return so you can create a digital twin of some place you’ve skated before or make something entirely crazy.
And don’t forget about multiplayer. With cross-platform play, anyone can join in for a high-score competition or just hang out in free skate mode and chill. The online experience is expected to be highly polished and make connectivity in the skating community nothing short of seamless.
