MP: Big accident in Betul’s coal mine, many laborers buried under debris due to slab fall, 3 killed… Rescue continues

A major accident took place in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday evening. The slab of the coal mine collapsed in it. As soon as the accident was reported, the police-administration and rescue team reached the spot and started the rescue. Till now three laborers have been evacuated from the debris, who were declared dead by a team of doctors. WCL, SDRF and Police Balki team rescued them. Betul SP Nischal Jharia confirmed the incident and the SP itself has reached Chhatarpur-1 mine.

The Bagdona-Chhatarpur mine located in the table of the accident occurred on Thursday evening, in which three laborers died due to the roof of the mine. On receiving the information of the incident, MLA Dr. Yogesh Pandagre, Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi and Superintendent of Police (SP) Nischal Jharia reached the spot and took stock of the situation. On the instructions of Collector Suryavanshi, the rescue operation was immediately started, in which other laborers working in the mine were safely taken out. However, SP Nischal Jharia confirmed the death of three workers.

The families of the deceased will get assistance amount

In this accident, Megovind Kosaria (37) Shift Incharge, Hari Chauhan (46) overman, Ramdev Pandole (49) Mining Sardar died. Father Dr. Pandagre and Collector Suryavanshi instructed the GM of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) to give Rs 1.5 lakh to the families of the deceased under the Scheme.

District administration gathered in investigation of accident

Apart from this, instructions have also been given to release the amount of X -resia, gratuity, compensation, PF and life encashment soon. After the incident, the administration has given instructions to review the mining security standards, so that such accidents can be prevented in future. Currently, the rescue operation has been completed and a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident by the authorities is going on.
