Jaipur: A businessman from Jaipur was given police protection following the threat of gangster Rohit Godara, but now he has been given a security bill of Rs 76 lakh. The businessman says that if he had so much money, he would have arranged for his own security, why would he go to the police? In December 2023, the gangster sought extortion of Rs 2 crore, after which the police deployed two gunmen under his protection. The businessman has now suffered a shock from this huge bill and has raised the question whether the police will also have to pay money to avoid the gangster?
The businessman was first threatened by gangster Rohit Godara through WhatsApp calls in December 2023. Initially he did not take it seriously, but when the call came again for the second time, he immediately reached the police station. In police investigation, the call came out of Rohit Godara. After this, two gunmen were deployed for 24 -hour security from 17 January 2024 after meeting the DCP and Additional Police Commissioner. These security arrangements are still going on, but after 14 months, when the businessman was given a bill of Rs 76 lakh, his senses flew away.
Recently, a notice was sent to the businessman on behalf of the Additional DCP (intelligence and security), which asked to deposit Rs 76 lakh 17 thousand 264 in lieu of the deployment of security guards. The businessman says that if he was already told that police security is not free, then he would have taken some other measures himself. Now he is upset with this decision and is raising questions that to avoid the gangster, he will have to pay the police too?
