Dubai: The final match of the Champions Trophy will be played on 9 March. The final will be played between India and New Zealand. Rohit Sharma will create history as soon as he descends to play in this match. Rohit Sharma will be the first captain in the world to have captained the finals of all the ICC formats. India led by Rohit played the final of the 2023 World Test Championship, 2023 ODI World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cup and India will face New Zealand in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday.

MS Dhoni took India to the finals of the ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy, but never got a chance to captain the World Test Championship. While Kane Williamson was the captain of the 2019 ODI World Cup, 2021 WTC and the New Zealand team playing in the final of the 2021 T20 World Cup.

During the final match between India and New Zealand at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Rohit Sharma will have a chance to equalize MS Dhoni's captaincy records and become the second captain of the world to win the ICC title in both ODI and T20I formats.

Dhoni was the captain of the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013. While Rohit has already given India the title of T20 World Cup in 2024 and on Sunday he will also have a chance to name a 50 -over ICC title.

Rohit will have a chance to win the title with 100 percent win record

Lloyd won the West Indies in 1975 and 1979, while Ponting was the captain of the Australian team who won all their matches in the 2003 and 2007 ODIs. Rohit Joe became the third Indian captain to win the ICC Trophy last year. He won all eight matches as captain in the 2024 T20 World Cup and India has won all the four matches played so far in the 2025 Champions Trophy. If India defeats New Zealand in Dubai, Rohit will also become the third captain winning two ICC titles without a record of 100% win after Clive Lloyd and Ricky Ponting.
