Months after the demise of Ratan Tata Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran shared a fond memory of the late Tata Group Chairman Emeritus recalling how the beloved industrialist always made it a made it a point to personally receive Chandrasekaran and see him off whenever he went to meet Tata. In the last few years he was not well. We met twice a week or even more. There was not a single occasion where he didn’t come to the door to receive me or see me off. I told him Sir you don’t have to do this. But he would insist. This was his courtesy. For him doing the right thing was important. Every time he made a decision he would put himself in the shoes of others to ensure he was being fair N Chandrasekaran said at 25th ET Awards for Corporate Excellence where Ratan Tata was posthumously with the Jewel of India award. The Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran said that Ratan Tata was always courteous and despite failing health in recent years he was always there to receive him and see him because he was the perfect gentleman. In 2008 Ratan Tata was conferred with the Padma Vibhushan India’s second-highest civilian honor for his invaluable contribution to the Indian industry.
