A woman has gone viral for sharing her unique way of cooking bacon that prevents splattering, but some are calling it a 'crime'.
is a staple in most people's household. It's a versitle ingredient that can add a salty element into meals, or work well on its on in a bacon butty or in a fry up. While there's an abundance of ways you can cook bacon, including frying it on the stove or baking it in the oven, one woman named Jenifer Presnull has gone viral after sharing her unique way of cooking the meat that also prevents any splatter - but some have been left outraged by it.
"Anyone else cook bacon this way? Just me?," she wrote as she showed off her method in a video that's been viewed over 11.5 million times.
In the video, Jenifer is seen cooking the bacon in a pot rather than in a pan. The bacon slices are layered on top of each other as she's seen constantly stirring the everything around to make sure it gets evenly cooked.
"I know I can't be the only one who cooks bacon this way!," she wrote in the caption of the video. "It's so much better than frying and a skillet. You don't get the splatter and it all cooks and it's done at the same time."
At the end, she showed the browned bacon that was cooking in its bubbling fats, looking perfectly crispy and ready to eat.
Despite Jenifer's enthusiasm regarding her cooking technique, viewers weren't convinced her method was the best, as some went on to compare it to a 'crime'.
One person suggested an alternative way, by saying: "No, it burns faster and doesn't cook evenly. Lay flat on a cookie sheet in the oven and I don't even have to watch it I just know."
A second viewer said: "Takes longer and you have to drain often, but for some reason yes... I do it too." However, others were pleasently suprised by the results, as one person said: "At first? War crime. By the end? Sold."
"I think people forget that a pot is just a RAISED PAN." another viewer argued, while a third said: "Wait why is this kind of genius? you're deep frying it in its own fat."
