IIFA’s 25 of Sholay completed 50 years, Amitabh Bachchan’s blockbuster film special screening in Jaipur

Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra's film Sholay, which came in the year 1975, is on the threshold of achieving great success. The film is completing 50 years of its release in the year 2025. Sholay's screenplay was written by Salim-Javed and directed by Ramesh Sippy. He said that it was very good to see that 50 years of his film are being completed and the silver jubilee celebrations of the IIFA Awards have started on this day.

Ramesh Sippy shared his emotions about the film and said- 'Today, 25 years of IIFA are as important as 50 years of Sholay. We made a great start last night and it will continue not only tonight but also further. Sholay film is considered one of the best Hindi films ever. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, many artists including Amjad Khan, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan AK Hangal, Satyen Kapu, Leela Mishra and Sachin Pilgaonkar worked in it. The film was released on 15 August 1975.

What did Suraj Barjatya say?

Film director Suraj Barjatya also reached Jaipur to be a part of the film screening on the occasion. He kept his views about the film and said- 'When the film was released, I was in 5th class. Sholay is a pillar of Indian cinema. Whether we see it, it definitely teaches us something. This film was made when VFX was not there.

'Even today, if we see the train scene, then we learn many nuances of Ramesh Sippy's work and film production. There are very few films with such potential and we have come here to celebrate it. Also, it has been 50 years of Raj temple, so this is the biggest happiness. Talking about IIFA, this award function has also completed its 25 years and is celebrating Silver Jubilee. This award show was kept on the 8-9th in which many stars of Indian cinema were seen.
