Actress Honey Rose recently opened up about the existence of casting couch in the Malayalam film industry .

Talking to News 18 Kerala, Honey Rose said, "I believe there is no need to fear in any industry. Only when things escalate to physical assault can we call it a real threat. I have rarely heard of such extreme cases. In my experience, it usually happens over a phone call. But we can always give a clear response, right? Once we do that, those people won’t approach us again. However, the question remains: Will you still get opportunities? That’s where fear comes in."

She further elaborated on the struggles newcomers face. The ‘Monster’ actress said that those entering the industry for the first time are more vulnerable to exploitation, and the challenges she faced mostly came through conversations over the phone.

“ If you respond firmly, you might not be invited to their films anymore. That’s the reality, said Honey Rose.

The actress further said that there’s nothing more they can do besides speaking out. The worst aspect of the casting couch, according to Honey Rose, is that even talented individuals may not get opportunities if they refuse to comply. “That’s why you have to fight for your place. But if you are a man, you won’t have to deal with any of this," said Honey Rose during the interview.

Meanwhile, the actress recently made headlines as she filed a complaint against the businessman Boby Chemmanur over derogatory remarks made toward her during an inaugural event. She penned a social media post that read, “Bobby Chemmanur, I have filed a police complaint at the Ernakulam Central Police Station against you for the derogatory remarks you made about me. A similar case will be filed against others who share the same mentality. While you may rely on the power of your wealth, I will place my trust in the strength of Indian law.”
