Kolkata: Youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday had taken out a protest rally over the Jadavpur University incident where state education minister Bratya Basu was attacked by Left Front student wing students on March 1. Adhikari called it ‘setting’ between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and CPI (M).
Leading the rally from Navina Cinema on Prince Anwar Shah Road in south Kolkata to Jadavpur Police Station, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari warned of more protests for ‘mass awakening’ after the board examination gets over.
“TMC leader and minister Firhad Hakim had done a setting with CPI (M) leader Md. Selim. This is very clear. After the board examination gets over the saffron camp will hit the streets more for mass awakening and to oust the present state government,” said Adhikari.
Adhikari also mentioned that ABVP will protest inside the campus against the alleged lawlessness.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of Jadavpur University Bhaskar Gupta who was hospitalized following the untoward incident inside the campus also got discharged on Sunday.
On the other hand, following Calcutta High Court’s order police had registered a FIR against education minister Bratya Basu, his driver and professor Om Prakash Mishra on the basis of the complaint by a student Indranuj Roy who was injured during the clash on March 1.
