The new Formula One 2025 season is now only seven days away at the Australian Grand Prix as the 10 teams on the grid finalise the finishing touches to their respective cars, with McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes all expected to challenge at the front. Lewis Hamilton is eagerly anticipating his Ferrari debut after enjoying what he described as one of his best pre-season tests in Bahrain. The 40-year-old will be going all out to claim a record eighth drivers' championship crown and deny Max Verstappen on his run of four consecutive titles, with the Dutchman feeling less positive about their chances.

But it could prove to be the most exciting season yet before the new engine regulations mix up the order in 2026. McLaren will be confident of backing up their constructors' title after strong performances from Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, while Mercedes are heading in a new direction with George Russell and 18-year-old starlet Kimi Antonelli. As the teams head to Melbourne in a few days, Express Sport will bring you all of the latest F1 news with our rolling coverage.
