Their previous titles were won in 2002 which they shared with Sri Lanka and in 2013. This latest triumph comes just eight months after Rohit Sharma guided the Indian team to their second T20 World Cup title in Barbados. Since the 2023 ODI World Cup India has shown remarkable consistency participating in 23 matches across three consecutive ICC limited-overs tournaments with their sole defeat occurring in the CWC final against Australia. Indias triumph in the Champions Trophy signifies the nations seventh ICC title since the memorable 1983 World Cup victory led by Kapil Dev at Lords.
