Patna: RJD leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav met with candidates for the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Exam 3.0 who have been demonstrating in Patna for more than 50 days. Protesters are calling for a resolution to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) TRE 3.0 exam results anomalies, which caused applicants to worry about open positions and problems with the results announcement.

After meeting Tejashwi Yadav, candidate Ajay Mishra discussed his aspirations, saying, “We have a lot of expectations from him. He will undoubtedly comply with our requests. We’ll have to turn to the opposition if the governing party doesn’t listen. According to the constitution, we are upholding our demands. For the last fifty days, we have been demonstrating at Gardanibagh, but the government is not paying any attention to us. Tejashwi Yadav has promised to bring up our requests in the Assembly and do all in his power to see that they are met.

The BPSC TRE 3.0 test, for which 87,774 positions were posted, is the source of the current problem. Only 66,000 results were announced, however, leaving 21,000 openings unaccounted for. When aspirants saw that there were duplicates in the released results—one student was included on three distinct lists—they were very alarmed.

Another candidate, Vikram Kumar, clarified the circumstances: “We took the BPSC TRE 3.0 test. There were 87,774 open positions at the time; however, only 66,000 of them had results announced. The purpose for the 21,000 posts that were left is unknown. The findings of just 35,000 to 40,000 applicants were made public when we looked at the data for those 66,000 positions. Three separate listings include the name of the same student. Two positions will become available if that one student joins someplace. We insist on the publication of an additional outcome.

“For the past 49 days, we have been protesting in Gardanibagh,” Kumar said. We have not met any members of the governing party. We expect that Tejashwi Yadav would bring up our concerns on the supplemental results in the Vidhan Sabha, given his efforts over the last 17 months. We’re hoping that our request will be met.
