After India’s victory in CT2025, Axar Patel’s mother comments, “I can’t stop crying with joy.”

March 10, Nadiad (Gujarat) The family of Gujarati cricketer Axar Patel shed happy emotions as they saw the Gujarati player play a vital part in India’s four-wicket victory against New Zealand in the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The left-hander has significantly improved his hitting and contributed to India’s batting lineup at a higher position. After losing three crucial wickets in a short period of time, India was able to stabilize their innings thanks to Axar and Shreyas Iyer’s 61-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

For a full team performance, Axar’s father blessed the whole group.

“When India wins, my son is representing the nation, so our home is filled with joy.” I am happy since tonight’s triumph was the result of the team’s efforts. “I want to bless everyone for winning the cup,” Rajesh Patel, Axar’s father, told IANS.

As his father bestowed his congratulations, Axar’s mother shed tears of joy over India’s triumph.

“India won the Champions Trophy today, and I am so happy that I can’t stop crying with joy.” Preeti Patel, Axar’s mother, told IANS, “My son did well, and the team was great as well, and they will bring the trophy home.”

This was India’s second triumph after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup and their fourth trip to the ICC finals in two years. Additionally, it marks India’s third Champions Trophy victory; the country shared the trophy with Sri Lanka in 2002 and 2013.

Sanship Patel, Axar’s brother, also shared his thoughts on the joyous occasion for his family.

For the first time in a decade, India defeated New Zealand in the finals to win the Champions Trophy today. We are receiving calls from all around the world to congratulate us on this joyous event. People are having a great time partying, and the whole road has been stopped. Sanship Patel said
