March 10, New Delhi [India]: According to a Ministry of External Affairs release, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon will visit India on March 16–20 at the request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This would be Luxon’s first trip to India as New Zealand prime minister, according to the statement.
“Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Luxon will be making his first trip to India in his current role. Before coming back to Wellington on March 20, 2025, he would go to New Delhi and Mumbai, according to the announcement.
According to the announcement, Luxon will speak with President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi when he is there.
During his visit, Prime Minister Rt Hon Luxon will discuss a number of topics pertaining to India-New Zealand ties with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on March 17, 2025. The visiting dignitary will be honored with a lunch hosted by Prime Minister Modi. On the same day, Hon. Rashtrapatiji Smt. Droupadi Murmu is slated to be called, according to the announcement.
Luxon will participate in and provide the keynote talk at the 10th Raisina Dialogue 2025’s opening session on March 17. During his tour, he will also engage with Indian business leaders.
“Prime Minister Rt Hon Luxon will serve as the Chief Guest and give the Keynote Address at the 10th Raisina Dialogue 2025’s opening session on March 17, 2025, in New Delhi. On March 19–20, 2025, Prime Minister Rt Hon Luxon is expected to go to Mumbai, where he will meet with representatives from a range of industries and Indian business executives, according to the announcement.
Luxon will be joined by a high-level delegation from a variety of professions, the statement said.
“He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Ministers, senior officials, businesses, media and members of the Indian diaspora community in New Zealand,” stated the statement.
Luxon’s visit, the announcement said, “reaffirms the enduring ties between the two nations.”
“The visit by Prime Minister Rt Hon Luxon highlights the strong and lasting relationship between India and New Zealand. The statement said, “It reaffirms the continued commitment of both countries to deepen our close people-to-people ties and further strengthen the bilateral relationship across all sectors.”
