17 years ago a film hit the theaters but failed to impress the audience. It performed so poorly at the box office that it couldn’t even recover its production cost. Despite featuring a superstar like Salman Khan the movie turned out to be a flop. The film had an ensemble cast including Katrina Kaif Anil Kapoor Zayed Khan Mithun Chakraborty Boman Irani and Anjan Srivastava. Directed by veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai who delivered classics like Pardes Khalnayak Hero Karma and Ram Lakhan. But this movie failed to make an impact. Its weak storyline was a major drawback and not even Salman Khan’s star power could save it from sinking at the box office. You might be surprised to know that Yuvvraaj movie was initially rejected by eight top Bollywood stars. Director Subhash Ghai originally envisioned the film with Aamir Khan Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in lead roles. However both Aamir and SRK turned down the offer. The film was then offered to Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan but they also declined. After that Ghai approached Sunny Deol Sanjay Dutt Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan but none of them agreed to be part of the project. Eventually the film was made with Salman Anil and Zayed in lead roles. Upon its release Yuvvraaj received mixed reviews from critics and failed to attract audiences to theaters. The movie had a budget of Rs 48 crore but could only manage to earn Rs 31.22 crore at the box office making it a commercial failure.
