Another year and another season of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) is here. While we wait to see the celebration of recognising talents for their best performances, the award show is also the time where we fashion enthusiasts are all gerared up to take notes However, while there may be some looks that leave us extremely inspired, they are some looks that doesn’t deliver close to our expectation. This year, some celebrities left fans disappointed with their fashion game. Here’s a list of celebrities who didn’t hit the right fashion spot
known for her sophisticated and chic fashion sense, took a rather experimental route this time but fell flat. Kriti went for a long white blazer coat with a sheer striped skirt, while Kriti’s makeup game was on point, her entire look didn’t add up and lacked wow factor. The fusion of traditional and contemporary was an interesting approach, but the execution did not do justice to her frame. The heavy gold jewelry also felt disconnected from the otherwise modern look. A little more risk-taking in silhouette and color could have saved this outfit.
Kartik Aaryan, known for his effortless style, chose an all-black ensemble that failed to create any visual interest. While the idea of an all-black textured suit with a voluminous hairstyle had potential, the final outcome seemed more dated than dapper. The heavily styled hair and thick beard, combined with an uninspiring outfit, gave a cluttered and unpolished look. A sleeker, more tailored silhouette or an interesting colour contrast could have elevated his appearance.
Urfi Javed, who is known for her bold fashion choices, once again took social media by storm but not for the right reasons. Clad in a dramatic structured outfit featuring exaggerated shoulders and face-obscuring accessory, Urfi’s outfit looked more like a costume than a stylish ensemble. The asymmetry and sheer detailing felt chaotic instead of artistic. Had the styling been more refined, this could have been an avant-garde masterpiece rather than an eyesore.
Richa Chaddha, known for her impeccable acting skills, unfortunately couldn’t make a mark as strong as her screen presence with her fashion game. She went with a royal blue pleated gown that didn’t flatter her figure, lacked structure and didn’t look the right outfit for a grandeur event like IIFA. While the colour was beautiful, the overall design did not enhance her frame. A more structured silhouette or strategic embellishments could have added the necessary glam factor.
Ali Fazal, who is often seen experimenting with her fashion game, took things a bit too far this time. He wore a heavily embroidered black jacket with intricate gold detailing, paired with loose-fitting pants, which felt like an overload of textures and patterns. While this look might be his attempt to break away from a basic and monotonous outfit, the output didn’t turn out well. A more balanced approach with a tailored fit could have helped refine the overall appearance.
Fashion at IIFA is always about making a statement, but sometimes, even the biggest stars miss the mark. This year, Kriti Sanon played it too safe, Kartik Aaryan lacked excitement, Urfi Javed went overboard, Richa Chadha’s gown failed to impress, and Ali Fazal’s ensemble was overwhelming. While these stars have had their fair share of stunning fashion moments in the past, IIFA 2025 was not their best showing. Hopefully, they will bounce back with better style choices next time!
