Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken an important step for the farmers and announced to start government procurement of wheat from March 17. This step is an important initiative towards providing financial assistance to farmers and ensuring a fair price for their hard work. The UP government has approved the wheat purchase policy for the Rabi marketing year 2025-26, under which wheat will be procured from the farmers.

Important initiative of the government

The minimum support price (MSP) of wheat procurement has been fixed at Rs 2425 per quintal. This will ensure that farmers get a fair price for their product, which can improve their economic condition. The special thing is that this purchase will continue from March 17 to June 15, which provides a long time for farmers, so that they can sell their product to the government and take advantage of the minimum support price.

Establishment of 6500 Purchase Centers

The UP government has decided to open 6500 purchasing centers to facilitate wheat procurement. Farmers will be able to reach these centers easily to sell their produce. This will make it easier for farmers to sell their products and will not face any kind of problems. A wide network of purchasing centers will ensure that more and more farmers can sell their products on MSP decided by the government.

The shareholder and registered trust will also get benefit

Another important decision has been taken that the sharecrop farmers and registered trusts will also be given the facility of government procurement of wheat. This will not only benefit small and medium farmers, but also those farmers who have to rent some part of their land, they will also get an opportunity to sell their products at a reasonable price. This initiative will work to add a new dimension to the agricultural sector of Uttar Pradesh.
