Build-up for a longer 'Holi-day'
Parliament has decided to take a holiday on March 13, the day before Holi, as MPs and staff have to go to their constituencies for the festival of colours. To make up for this, Parliament will have an extra sitting on March 29, a Saturday. MPs from north India are already looking forward to the festival, with many of them saying not much work is expected on Wednesday after the first half as they prepare to meet their supporters.
Puzzled over balancing act
Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu confused his partymen as TDP declared MLC list of three candidates — Beeda Ravi Chandra, BT Naidu and Kavali Greeshma. In all fairness, Naidu left one seat each for allies BJP and Jana Sena. But several loyalists like former minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and former Pithapuram MLA SVSN Varma were missing from MLC list in Naidu’s balancing act.

Samajwadi Party’s Chandauli MP Virendra Singh confused several MPs as he spoke extensively on the Lading Bill 2024. Rather than taking up the specific provisions of the bill, Singh spoke about the Ganga cruise introduced by the government and how the river needs dredging. He also sought additional funds for the purpose
