Update on Agra Metro: The Uttar Pradesh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has authorized the transfer of land for the Agra Metro Rail Project. On March 10, the Agra Metro’s first and second phases’ land transfer plans were accepted by the government. The CM presided over the cabinet meeting when the decision was made.
The cabinet has authorized the free transfer of land from the Horticulture and Food Processing Department to the Housing and Urban Planning Department for the first corridor of the Agra Metro Rail Project under the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited, according to UP Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna.
The Housing and Urban Planning Department would lease 8,684.68 square meters of land, which was formerly owned by the Horticulture and Food Processing Department, for 90 years at a nominal fee of Rs 1, with the option to renew every 30 years, he said.
The transfer of 20,753 square meters of property from the Home Department for the project’s second corridor has also been authorized by the cabinet. Similar terms will apply to the 90-year lease on this property.
