How Harivansh Rai Bachchan met Teji Bachchan In 1926 Harivansh Rai Bachchan married social activist Shyama Bachchan but sadly she passed away from tuberculosis in 1936. Heartbroken he fell into depression and expressed his grief through poetry. Later he met Teji Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan once shared that his father had gone to Bareilly to visit a friend and during a dinner gathering he was asked to recite a poem. Just before he could begin the friend’s wife was asked to invite Teji in and that was the moment they met. Sharing more details about that meeting Bachchan recounted how his father described Teji as beautiful vividly remembering the clothes she wore the first time they met. She listened quietly as he recited his poem Kya Karu Samvedna Lekar Tumhari and was moved to tears by his words. Bachchan revealed that in that moment his father knew she would be his life partner. Harivansh and Teji Bachchan had two sons Amitabh and Ajitabh. Ajitabh is Amitabhs younger brother and is married to Ramola. Together they have four children - Bhim Namrata Naina and Neelima. Naina is married to actor Kunal Kapoor.
