The actor had made a special identity with his debut film but after back-to-back flops his reputation got dented. He has done films with top actors like Priyanka Chopra Salman Khan John Abraham and Prabhas but lost many big films due to his looks. We are talking about actor Neil Nitin Mukesh. According to media reports Lata Mangeshkar named him after astronaut Neil Armstrong. He worked as a child artist in Vijay Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharni.
Neil who became a favourite of the audience with New York had a dream of his grandfather and great singer Mukesh that his grandson should become an actor. He fulfilled his grandfathers dream. After graduating from HR College Neil took training from Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School and learnt the tricks of acting from Anupam Kher. He debuted in the year 2007 with the thriller film Johnny Gaddaar. The film was praised and he got a nomination in the Best Male Debut category at Filmfare. The audience liked his role in Kabir Khans 2009 film New York very much.
Neil faced discrimination in the film industry and then appeared in Madhur Bhandarkars film Jail which created controversy but was also praised. In fact in Jail the actor had given a scene without shoes which worried his family but he believed in Madhur Bhandarkars vision. Despite being talented many of his films flopped. According to a DNA India report the actor recently revealed that he had to face racism in the film industry because of his looks.
Actor Neil wants equal opportunity. He said that filmmakers think that he does not look like a common man so he does not get roles. He gave the example of Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan that they are also fair in complexion but they were offered different kinds of roles. Neil stressed that their look can change due to todays technology and makeup. He wants filmmakers to give him roles based on his acting. He has proved his ability in films like Johnny Gaddar so he should also get an equal opportunity.
