Bareilly: The councilor stabbed the live-in partner with a knife, demanded money; Condition critical

A heartbreaking incident has come to light in Fatehganj western region of Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. Municipal councilor Mahendra Pal Sharma brutally attacked his live-in partner with a knife and poles. The woman was seriously injured in the attack, who has been admitted to the district hospital. At present, his condition remains critical.

Actually, the victim alleges that she had recently sold a plot for six lakh rupees. Councilor Mahendra Pal Sharma was eyeing this amount, and he was constantly demanding money from the woman. When the woman refused to give the money, the councilor got angry and attacked her in a fatal attack. The councilor escaped from the spot after the incident. The police have started raiding for his arrest but he has not been caught till now.

Woman was pressurized for money

The victim told the police that her husband died in a road accident about five years ago. During this, Councilor Mahendra Pal Sharma kept a live-in relationship with him in the name of supporting him. Initially everything was fine but later the councilor started torturing him mentally and physically. When the woman sold her plot, Mahendra Pal started asserting her right over that money. First he tried to ask for money with love. When he refused to pay, he attacked.

After the attack, the accused escaped leaving the injured woman in a bled condition. On the information of the local people, the police reached the spot and admitted the woman to the district hospital. Doctors say, the condition of the woman remains critical and she is fighting with life and death.

Accused absconding after executing the incident

The police have registered an FIR against Councilor Mahendra Pal Sharma under the sections of attempt to murder. Police officials say that several locations are being raided to arrest the accused. Soon he will be caught and strict action will be taken under the law.
