Salt production, which had only begun in the surrounding districts of Thoothukudi city a few days ago, has been seriously impacted by the unseasonable rainfall. Local producers have been impacted by the entire stoppage in operations caused by the two days of nonstop rain.

Fishing boats stay moored as a precaution against the predicted heavy rains.

In a number of districts, including Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Theni, Madurai, Erode, Salem, and Namakkal, the IMD has also issued forecasts for light thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rainfall.

Additionally, authorities have issued warnings about slick roads in certain places and waterlogging in others. Rainfall may also have an impact on traffic in a number of locations.

In the meanwhile, the IMD warns fishermen against going into impacted regions. The south Kerala coast and the nearby Lakshadweep and Maldives regions, the Comorin area, the Gulf of Mannar, the Tamil Nadu coast, and the Sri Lanka coast are all expected to see squally weather with wind speeds of 35 to 45 km/h with gusts up to 55 km/h.

Assam and Meghalaya will have similar weather conditions from March 12 to 15, while Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are expected to get thunderstorms today, according to the IMD. Furthermore, from March 12 to 16, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are anticipated to be impacted.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a partly overcast sky with high surface breezes throughout the day and the possibility of mist in the morning for New Delhi.

It is anticipated that the lowest temperature will be between 16 and 18°C, while the highest will be between 32 and 34°C.

The IMD predicts that the northwest will have the strongest surface wind, reaching 12–14 km/h in the morning. After reaching 16–18 km/h in the afternoon, the wind speed will progressively drop to less than 10 km/h in the evening and night.
