Patna Prashant Kishor, the leader of the Suraj Party, has boldly said that Nitish Kumar would not serve as Bihar’s chief minister after the 2025 Assembly elections.

“After November, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s term would come to an end. “The BJP will send its own chief minister if the NDA wins, and Nitish Kumar won’t be back as chief minister if the NDA loses,” he said.

“Nitish Kumar will not remain chief minister regardless of the outcome of the election,” he said.

Following Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s declaration that he will remain in Bihar for the 2025 Assembly election in order to ensure an NDA victory, Prashant Kishor made his comment. Prashant Kishor went on to say that in 2025, Bihar would have a new political choice.

In his heightened criticism of Bihar’s political elite, Prashant Kishor asserts that the populace now wants change and will no longer cast ballots under duress.

“JDU, BJP, and RJD are no longer confused by one another. Now, the people will cast ballots for employment, education, and development. Within six months, the Jan Suraj party will emerge as a new political option, according to Kishor.

Despite his lofty aspirations, Jan Suraj Convener’s party did not fare well in the 2024 by-elections for the four seats of Belaganj, Imamganj, Tarari, and Ramgarh.

In the by-election, the Jan Suraj Party’s candidates were unable to preserve their deposits. Prashant Kishor and the Jan Suraj party, which was founded on October 2, 2024, will be put to the test in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

According to Prashant Kishor, who has been conducting Padyatra for over two years, he is seeing a change in the mood of Bihar voters. “Bihar’s voters are looking beyond traditional parties,” he said.

Prashant Kishor wants to establish his party as a viable option in the run-up to the Bihar Assembly election. Prashant Kishor is presenting his party as a third front in Bihar, which presently has two significant alliances: the Grand Alliance and the NDA.
