Amitabh Bachchan the Shahenshah of Bollywood needs no introduction. The actors immense talent and captivating screen presence have cemented his position in the industry. Even at the age of 82 he is still considered one of the most hardworking actors. In his early days Big B used to work day and night to attain the position of superstardom. The actor once revealed that he used to do double shifts for two of his films as they were both shot in different locations. Later the same revelation was made by his son Abhishek Bachchan. In a conversation with Galatta Plus Hindi Abhishek Bachchan recalled I was doing double shifts early in my career and I was tired one day and went home early in the morning. He was having his breakfast ready to leave. He said ‘How was it?’ I said I was very tired. Very casually he said ‘We used to do a lot of this. I was shooting Sholay about an hour’s drive from Bengaluru where the Ramgarh set was. We would shoot all day I would pack up take an hour’s drive to Bengaluru airport take a flight to Mumbai and go straight to Ballard Pier where we were shooting the climax of Deewaar. I would shoot all night come back home take a shot of adrenaline fly back to Bengaluru the next morning and shoot all day. He did this for a month Abhishek then recounted asking him about his sleep schedule and he replied Once you take the adrenaline you can’t sleep.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Amitabh Bachchan (@amitabhbachchan) Fortunately Amitabh Bachchans hard work truly paid off as both of his films Deewar and Sholay turned out to be blockbusters. It also rose him to superstardom establishing him one of biggest stars in the industry. Made on a budget of Rs 1.3 crore Deewar grossed over 7 crore at the box office becoming the highest-grossing film of that year. While Sholay earned Rs 35 crore against the budget of Rs 30 lakh and is till date considered a cult classic in Hindi cinema.
