Government agency CERT-In has issued a high-risk warning for Google Chrome users. The agency has said that many flaws have been found in some versions, which can lead to data theft.

If you use Google Chrome, then this news is of use to you. Actually, many flaws have been detected in Google Chrome, due to which users' data can be stolen. These flaws will not only affect Windows and Linux users, but Mac users can also be affected by it. The Government of India has issued a high risk warning regarding this. Government agency Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has placed this warning in the serious category.

CERT-In gave this warning

CERT-In has issued a warning regarding many flaws in the Chrome browser. It has been said that hackers can take advantage of these flaws to access the device and steal data. The agency has said that Chrome running on older versions needs to be updated immediately. Linux versions 134.0.6998.35 or older, Windows versions 134.0.6998.35/36 or older, and Mac versions 134.0.6998.44/45 or older need to be updated immediately. If your device is running these or older versions of Chrome, update them to avoid cyber attacks.

Warning was also issued in January

Let us tell you that CERT-In keeps issuing warnings about such flaws from time to time. In January, the agency had issued a warning for users using versions older than 132.0.6834.83/8r and versions older than 132.0.6834.110/111. Such flaws were found in these versions, with the help of which hackers could bypass the security of the system. This was a threat to individual users as well as organizations.

How to avoid such threats?

It is generally advised that users should keep updating Chrome and other apps on a regular basis. This not only gives the benefit of new features but also helps in getting rid of any such flaws.
