BEd: The National Teacher Training Council (NCTE) has proposed to close the BEd course by the year 2030. It will be replaced by a four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP). Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has announced the closure of the four-year integrated course BA BEd and BSc BEd from this academic session. The Integrated Teacher Training Program (ITEP) will be implemented in its place.
Maharashtra Education Department officials said on Tuesday that Integrated BEd will be closed and ITEP will be started. This is a new four-year teacher education program. It is in line with the guidelines of the National Teacher Training Council (NCTE).
NCTE issued a notice in February
According to the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, to get admission to ITEP, one will have to take the national entrance exam conducted by NTA. The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell has canceled the entrance exam for Integrated BA BEd and BSc BEd. Let us tell you that NCTE has banned four-year integrated B.Ed from the year 2025-26. The Council issued its notice in February.
BA B.Ed and B.Sc B.Ed closed in Rajasthan too.
In Rajasthan too, four-year BA B.Ed and B.Sc B.Ed courses have been closed this year. After which the online application process for Rajasthan Pre-Teacher Education Test (PTET) 2025 has been postponed. Here too, admission can be taken in the four-year ITEP program after the 12th.
