Mayor Anjum Ara of Darbhanga, Bihar, has apologized on Wednesday, regretting his statement. He said that his statement about the prayers of Holi and Jumme was for a peaceful atmosphere. Amidst the continuous criticism, the mayor said that since morning, people are abusing them, someone is calling them Bangladeshi and some traitor. He asked the media to conduct whatever investigation against me.

On being targeted continuously, she said that everyone has the right to speak, she will not say anything on this. The mayor clarified that he had only the intention that the prayers of Holi and Jumme should be performed in a peaceful manner. In this context, she gave a statement on Tuesday, for which she regrets. He had said that Holi and Jumme prayers are one day, so Holi should not be celebrated in the afternoon.

'My aim was to maintain peace'

Mayor Anjum Ara had said in the meeting of the peace committee of the district administration that the prayers of Holi and Jumme are the same day. Therefore, Hindu brothers should not celebrate Holi from 12:30 to 2 pm. On this statement, DM Rajiv Roshan and SP said that the mayor did not say anything like this during the meeting, but to appoint a magistrate. After this statement of Anjum Ara, there has been a political uproar in the whole country from Darbhanga.

At the same time, he has expressed regret to the media on his statement on Holi and Jumma's prayers. He said that his aim was to maintain peace. While the BJP targeted the mayor's statement, Darbhanga DM Rajiv Roshan has denied the statement. It is worth noting that Darbhanga Municipal Corporation Mayor Anjum Ara had requested to apply a brake on Holi from 12:30 to 2 pm.

'Namaz time cannot be changed'

Mayor of Darbhanga Nagar Anjum Ara had said that those who play Holi on Holi should keep distance from mosques and places to offer prayers for two hours in the afternoon. Due to Holi, the time of prayer of Jumme cannot be changed. He said that Holi and Ramadan have been celebrated on the same day before. Therefore, celebrate it happily in all peace and cordial atmosphere.

He said that the Municipal Corporation has made complete arrangements for cleanliness. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Darbhanga Municipal Corporation Mayor Anjum Ara said that no one wants to fight during festivals. All this is due to the presence of two-four anti-social elements. At the same time, Darbhanga MP Gopal ji Thakur was enraged at this statement of Mayor Anjum Ara.

Namaz and Holi will celebrate together- DM

MP Gopal Ji Thakur said that Darbhanga administration should take action on such statement of the person sitting in constitutional post. He said that the work of humiliating Sanatanis should stop. Here, the suggestion of the mayor was rejected by the district administration and said that no such suggestion has come in the meeting. DM of Darbhanga, Rajiv Roshan has said that the people of the district will also offer prayers and will celebrate Holi together.
