The match between Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets witnessed a heated moment between Mason Plumlee and Steven Adams which ultimately resulted in ejection of both players.
The incident occurred in the second quarter when the two centers (Mason Plumlee of the Phoenix Suns and Steven Adams of the Houston Rockets) got tangled up while battling for a rebound.
Even after the play moved forward, neither backed down, resulting in a physical altercation that saw them grappling and falling to the floor. Officials and team staff had to step in quickly to separate them, and both players were immediately sent off. Plumlee was bleeding on his forehead above his right eye after being pulled away
Rockets win despite Adams rejection
This is not the first time Adams has picked up another player. In 2023, he picked up Tony Bradley after he got into it with Adams' teammate Ja Morant. Adams received a standing ovation from Rockets fans as he went into the tunnel.
The Rockets went on to secure a 111-104 victory, with Jalen Green leading the charge with 29 points and seven rebounds. Alperen Sengun added 20 points and seven assists, while Dillon Brooks contributed 19 points. The win helped Houston (41-25) maintain pace in the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, the Suns (30-36), despite Bradley Beal’s 25-point effort, suffered a setback, keeping them outside the playoff race.
The Rockets will host the Dallas Mavericks on Friday while the Suns host the Sacramento Kings. It remains unclear if Adams or Plumlee will be available for their respective teams
