Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Mayank Yadav may be out of the first half of IPL 2025. According to ESPNcricinfo, Mayank is recovering from a lower back injury. He has recently resumed bowling at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Let us tell you that Mayank was injured after his international debut in the T20 series against Bangladesh in October last year.

No date has been fixed by the BCCI for Mayank's return at the moment. But he may return in the second half of the IPL.

Mayank's absence in the first half can prove to be a big setback for Lucknow Super Giants. The franchise had retained him for Rs 11 crore before the mega auction. Let us tell you that in IPL 2024, Lucknow had associated with him for Rs 20 lakh, because at that time he was an uncapped bowler.

Mayank made headlines by bowling consistently at a speed of 150 kmph last season and was the Player of the Match in his first two matches of IPL. After this he got a chance to debut for India.

Mayank could play only four matches in IPL 2024 due to side strain. During rehab, Mayank suffered another injury, which delayed his return but then he got a chance in the Bangladesh T20 series. Although the BCCI has not given any official information about Mayank's injury, it is believed that he is suffering from a lower back injury.

Lucknow Super Giants will play their first match in IPL 2025 against Delhi Capitals on March 24 in Visakhapatnam. The franchise has made Rishabh Pant the captain of the team, who was bought for Rs 27 crore in the mega auction.
