In the last 13 months, Shreyas Iyer's career has been full of ups and downs. First he was out of BCCI's central contract and then under his captaincy, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the IPL title and now he is a part of the Indian team that won the Champions Trophy. However, Iyer has admitted that he did not get the attention he should have got for making KKR the champion last year.

Let us tell you that KKR did not retain Iyer before the mega auction. However, Punjab Kings added him to their team for Rs 26.75 crore and he will also captain the team.

Iyer told the Times of India, "I personally felt that after winning the IPL, I did not get the attention I wanted, but in the end, as long as you have integrity and you keep doing the right things when no one is watching you, it is more important and that is what I kept doing."

He further said, "When I talk about attention, it means getting respect. It is about the respect that should be given in return for my efforts on the field. I feel that many times my efforts are not given importance.

Let us tell you that in the recently concluded Champions Trophy, Iyer played an important role in making India the champion. He was the highest run scorer for India. He scored 243 runs in five innings, in which he played important innings under pressure situations.
