The Board of Control for Cricket in India may soon announce the list of central contracts to the players of Team India. This time the board will make many changes in the contract. Team India's star players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma may suffer losses.
Ravindra Jadeja is also included in this list. The three players are currently in A Plus grade. But now their grade can be changed to A.
Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja will retire from this format after the 2024 T20 World Cup. According to the board rules, players playing all three formats-ODI, Test and T20-are placed in A Plus grade. But Rohit, Jadeja and Kohli have said goodbye to T20. Therefore their grades can be changed. This will harm them.
Kohli, Rohit and Jadeja may suffer financial loss
The BCCI pays salary according to grade. In this situation, Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja may suffer losses in salary. These three players may lose at least Rs 2 crore. BCCI pays Rs 7 crore annually to A+ grade players. While grade A players are paid Rs 5 crore annually.
Only four players in A+ grade
The current BCCI contract has only four players in the A Plus grade. Jaspreet Bumrah along with Rohit, Virat and Jadeja are also involved in this. If we talk about grade A, it currently consists of six players. Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya and Ravichandran Ashwin are part of this list. Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Akshar Patel and Suryakumar Yadav are part of Grade B.
