New Delhi: Star England batter Harry Brook has been handed a two-year ban from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after pulling out of the upcoming season. Brook was purchased by Delhi Capitals (DC) for Rs 6.25 crore during the mega auction. However the young player opted to skip the season to prioritize Englands home fixtures after their disappointing performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As a result he will miss the 2025 IPL and will not be eligible to play in the 2026 season even if he decides to participate. The ban will cover the upcoming season as well. English batter Harry brook who opted out from this season of IPL will not be allowed to play next season of IPL. Even he made his self available next season will not be permitted a BCCI source told India Today. Before the mega auction for the upcoming season the IPL governing council had stated that any player who withdraws after being selected in the auction could face a two-year suspension. Any player who registers in the player auction and after getting picked at the auction makes himself unavailable before the start of the season will get banned from participating in the tournament and player auction for 2 Seasons the rules read. Brook has struggled with form this year accumulating just 91 runs from five T20Is with only one half-century. In ODIs he has managed 97 runs from six games failing to score a single half-century.
