Renowned Indian filmmaker Ayan Mukerji’s father, actor Deb Mukherjee, has passed away at the age of 83. Ayan Mukerji, known for delivering blockbuster films and making a name for himself in Bollywood, comes from a family deeply rooted in the industry. His father, Deb Mukherjee, was also a significant figure in Indian cinema.
Deb Mukherjee, who had made his mark in films such as Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and Adhikar, enjoyed a long and illustrious career. He proved his mettle as an actor by acting in many blockbuster films such as Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, Abhinetri, Do Aankhen, and Baton Baton Mein. Each of his roles had a lasting impression on the Indian film industry.
The late actor was also the father-in-law of noted director Ashutosh Gowariker. Indian media reports suggest that Deb Mukherjee had been ailing for the last few months and died on the morning of March 14 because of age- complications.
The news suggests that his last rites would be carried out on March 14 in the evening around 4 PM at Pawan Hans Crematorium, Juhu, Mumbai. Various celebrities from Bollywood are likely to come to attend his funeral, including Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Rani Mukerji, Tanuja, Hrithik Roshan, Sidharth Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh.
Ayan Mukerji’s father, Deb Mukherjee, was the brother of actress Kajol’s father, Shomu Mukherjee, while he and Rani Mukerji’s father, Ram Mukherjee, were cousins.
