Popular Pakistani model, actor, and host Omar Shehzad shocked fans and the showbiz world by sharing the news of his wedding to Shanzay Lodhi in February 2025. The sudden news of the wedding stunned fans and showbiz members. The moment the video of their Nikah (wedding ceremony) in Madinah went viral on social media, well-wishes and congratulations poured in for the couple on social media. Fans were also curious to know more about the wedding.

Even senior actress Rubina Ashraf, in a Ramzan transmission, wondered about Omar’s surprise marriage announcement. Congratulating him, she asked how his wedding was a surprise while other recent weddings were announced beforehand. She also asked if the decision was taken suddenly.

Omar Shehzad responded by saying that they had been in talks with their families regarding the wedding, but it was something he wanted very much to hold the Nikah in Madinah. He told his wife, and she got very emotional since it meant a lot to her too. The actor added that he didn’t know whether it would happen or not, but Allah granted everything within a few days. His German-based brother also came to Saudi Arabia, together with both families. Approximately 20 close relatives witnessed the small wedding.

Omar explained the ordeal of organizing the Nikah in Madinah, indicating he had no idea how things would be arranged. When he called a friend, he was told to go to Makkah instead, as there are more stringent rules in Madinah for such ceremonies within the Haram. There may even be penalties, and it might be hard to arrange a Nikah Khawan (officiant). A scholar who came from Riyadh said he would conduct the Nikah when he was informed about them. They then decided on the time after Fajr prayers, and the next day, the scholar came. While passing through the Haram, they spotted a carpeted area that was well arranged, so they sat there, and the Nikah took place.

Looking back at the moment, Omar revealed that there were numerous thoughts in his mind during Nikah. Nevertheless, when he and Shanzay did their first Umrah together, all the doubts faded away. He understood that Allah’s choice for him was the best choice he could have made. Grateful to Allah, the actor summarized that Allah had in return for his patience rewarded him in the best manner. Regardless of how much he thanked Him, it would still not be sufficient. He defined Shanzay as extremely tolerant and stated that he is absolutely sure that marriages are made in heaven.
