Throughout his political career, to claim he is the right man to be in the Oval Office. When he moved in to the White House in January, his numbers were generally positive, but they've over recent weeks.

Pollster Nate Silver wrote on : "This is getting to be a reasonably fast decline. We launched last week, and Trump's approval was +0.5, now it's -1.7." Fox News co-host Jessica Tarlov posted to X on Thursday: "Donald Trump's approval ratings are underwater across the board. Americans don't support how he is handling the economy, the federal work force, foreign policy, or trade. Which, is basically everything a President does."

In just a few short weeks, Trump has completely remodelled the geopolitical landscape, alienated allies in Mexico, Canada and Europe, and welcomed a human trafficker into the country. On the campaign trail, he'd promised to bring America into a new Golden Age, but has turned from a focus on easing the woes of everyday citizens to grand imperialist ambitions. 

Many of Trump's supporters voted for him due to his plans to stop American involvement in the business of other countries. So many will have been baffled by his threats to annex the Panama Canal, the Gaza Strip, and to make Greenland a new state within two months of taking office.

Elon Musk, Trump's buddy-in-chief, has torn the US Government to shreds and clumsily fired veterans from key roles, a big no-no for the American public. One of the most horrendous examples of Trump's unhinged policies was his treatment of Ukrainian President , who he bullied in front of the world's media in the Oval Office. Trump's desperation to bring the war to an end quickly gave an advantage, allowing him to weaken Ukraine's position. He accused Zelensky, once hailed as a hero in the US, as ungrateful for US aid. 

Trump also campaigned on the stopping of human trafficking into the US. Many will have wondered why he welcomed Andrew Tate - who has been accused of rape, human trafficking and sexual exploitation of numerous women.

The US's best trade partner was once Europe, but after slapping the bloc with 25 per cent tariffs on steel and aluminium imports, the world's largest trading unit is not on the best terms with the White House. Germany's likely next chancellor Friedrich Merz said the country needed to become less reliant on the US. The UK has also committed to increasing defence spending in a bid to deter from invading the Baltic states and other European territories.
