At the same time, there is also a possibility of giving the arrears of the remaining 2 months along with the dearness allowance of March.

If the dearness allowance increases, it will benefit more than 1 crore central employees. Central government employees have been demanding for a long time that their dearness allowance should be increased by 3 percent.

In view of the demand of central government employees, the government has decided to increase the dearness allowance. However, it is being said that the government can increase the dearness allowance by 2 percent.

According to government figures, currently central employees are given dearness allowance up to 53 percent. If there is an increase of 2 percent in it, then the dearness allowance will go up to 55 percent. The government had increased the dearness allowance by 3 percent in October last year.

A time when no dearness allowance was received

According to the information received about this, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the government had stopped the dearness allowance of all employees. The government did not give any dearness allowance to the central employees for 18 months from January 2020 to June 2021.

At the same time, the employees have been demanding the arrears of this period for a long time. The government increases the dearness allowance twice every year. This increase is done once for January to June and the second time for July to December.

Apart from this, it has also been seen that the dearness allowance coming from January to June is announced in March. At the same time, the increase in dearness allowance from July to December is announced in July to December.
